AIR CONDITIONING
AV-MECH will help you keep your cool !!!  We are the leading distributer and installer of Air-Flow Systems air conditiong for your experimental aircraft.  We have systems for the Lancair IV/IVP and the IV/PT, The Lancair Legacy including fixed gear versions the Vans RV-6/7/10 and the Glasair III.  Our systems are flight proven with hundreds of hours flight time in nearly 100 different airframes.  No other competitior can HONESTLY make that claim or even come close to backing it up.  Make no mistake, if you need a proven, well designed system that has full factory support and warranty, AV-MECH and Air-Flow systems has you covered.
Our systems are engine driven with a low amperage draw.  There is no need to cut holes in the aft fuselage or mount cumbersome condensors or evaperators in the back of your aircraft.  You will not need an additional/secondary alternator or all the extra heavy wiring that is associated with our competitors systems.  We do use a highly refined, wind tunnel tested aerodynamic scoop that mounts to the bottom of the fuselage which is low drag and very attractive.  Because it is under the fuselage and between the wing roots it is difficult to see on the ground without getting down on one knee and unless you are really good.......your not going to see it in the air!!  Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, our scoop has been proven to cost you no more the 1.5 KTS in speed and in some cases no decreses in speed can be detected. That's a small price to pay for air conditioned comfort.  Our systems weight less than 40 lbs completely installed, that's the lightest system on the market today!

From turbine powered pipeline patrol aircraft in the harsh environment of the Middle East to the high speed, pressurized luxury of the Lancair IVP, aircraft equipped with Airflow Systems air conditioning kits enjoy the best air conditioning systems available for light aircraft. We offer the best cost, lowest weight and highest efficiency systems in the marketplace.

Airflow Systems is celebrating 19 years in the aviation heat transfer business by expanding it's line of air conditioning kits for light aircraft.

During the past seven years Airflow Systems has delivered over 85 air-conditioning kits for experimental aircraft. Our extensive experience with these systems and our policy of continuous improvement has resulted in the upgrades found in our existing kits as well as the new kits introduced this year.

Working with a local university wind tunnel, we have developed a new condenser scoop that has a low profile and low drag shape yet retains high efficiency condenser cooling. The scoop helps preserve precious interior volume and prevents an unfavorable aft C.G. condition that affects other systems. The scoop also contributes to overall electrical efficiency by eliminating the need for a condenser fan in most applications.

Testing on the hot and humid east coast of Florida have shown that cabin occupants in aircraft equipped with our kits remain comfortable on the ground with the doors closed at high ambient OATs.

All of our air conditioning kits may be installed before or after the aircraft is completed. Most of our kits may be installed by any competent aircraft builder as the kits are very complete and have been designed for ease of installation. Approved installation centers are also available or an authorized installer will come to your location.

Each of our kits is available in a 12 or 24 volt version and all kits use the environmentally friendly and readily available R134A refrigerant.

All of our kits include;
• CNC machined drive pulley (hard anodized)
• CNC machined compressor brackets
• High efficiency Compressor
• Evaporator w/3-speed fan
• Overhead duct/headliner
• 4 ea. High flow air vents
• Receiver/Drier with mounts
• Condenser/Belly scoop (Carbon Optional)
• Condensate pressurization check valve
• Complete wiring harness (12 or 24 volt)
• All hoses, fittings and belts
• All hardware necessary for installationDelivery typically 2 weeks from receipt of deposit.

Prices start at $5495.
AV-MECH's main objective is to provide truly world class aircraft services with an unparalleled empahsis on customer service and satisfaction
This is our very clean compressor installation on the Continental IO-550.  This particular engine is on a Lancair Legacy
Same airframe as previous picture.  You can clearly see that NO modifications are required of the cowling.  It's a well engineered installation with full factory support and warranty.  No other competitor can match that.
